Street Stories is an indie pop-punk band from Shillong, Meghalaya, a northeastern state of India, formed in 2010. The band consists of vocalist and guitarist Pezo Kronu, bassist and backing vocalist Riko Kronu and drummer Matsram Sangma.
The band has released their first debut EP album “The Apple & the Clown” in 2010, with five songs in it.
Formed while still in high school in 2010, by the two brothers Riko and Pezo Kronu. Later they met the current drummer Matsram Sangma at a charity event of Shillong Baptish Chruch. Street Stories started off covering songs by pop punk bands such as Blink-182, We the Kings, Good Charlotte, Relient K, Artic Monkeys and All American Rejects. They later recorded their first cover version of Lady Gaga’s chart-topping single “Poker Face” and made it uploaded on their Myspace page later that same year. The song received a mixed response and soon the band began to get featured on popular music magazines including Rolling Stone Magazine (India), Rock Street Journal, The Big M, Eclectic Vibes,The Northeast Today (TNT) and numerous e-zines.
Street Stories won the “Best Bassist Award” at the annual Hornbill National Rock Contest 2010, one of the biggest festival and battle of the band contest in the country. The band consistently has appeared at various venues and cities, sharing stages with some well-known bands such as Aurora Jane (Austrialia), De Profundis (England), Indigo Children, Bhayanak Maut and Sky Rabbit.
The band did their first headlining show at Jatinga Music Festival held in 2010. They has appeared at numerous festivals such as Escape festival, Autumn Festival, Ziro Festival of music, Hard Electric Tour 2010, Jatinga music Festival, Cloud Confluence fest etc.
