The three-day cultural extravanganza Metropolis Urban Winter Festival 2013 to start today at the Shraddhanjali Kanan Park in Guwahati, Assam.
The festival will bring together more than 1,000 artistes, comprising musicians, photographers, painters, filmmakers, craftsmen and folk artistes, from the north-eastern region as well as other parts of the country.
“After its successful journey in Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya, the Metropolis Urban Winter Festival is waiting to take Guwahatians on a different joy ride for three days. Renowned filmmakers Reema Kagti, Anurag Kashyap, Imtiaz Ali and Zoya Akhtar will interact with the aspiring filmmakers of the city,” Rajiv Phukan, an official of Curves & Shades which is behind the festival.
The festival will have a zone for all age group participants irrespective of economic or demographic differences. For the tech savvy participants there will be a gaming zone and workshop and for the thinkers there will be sessions of script writing, film making and painting.
