In this scene of Season 1 Episode 13 “Nuclear Man” which aired on February 10, 2015. The Flash main character Barry Allen, portrayed by the 26-year-old American actor Thomas Grant Gustin, is seen asking out his opposite lead character Linda Parker for a second date by telling her that he’s not hungover on his previous love and ready to prove it by eating a Naga Bhut Jolokia (Ghost Pepper).
“This is the Naga Jolokia or the ghost pepper. It is the world’s hottest pepper. If you do not agree to go on another date with me, I will eat it,” he said while holding the chilli and intimidating her to agree.
Within seconds, soon after he ate it and began vomiting while reeling on the floor in pain. The Naga Jolokia did the trick for him and was worth it. The lady said “Yes I would go out with you. That pepper could have killed you, nerd.”
The DC comics hit television series is a spin-off of the popular TV series Arrow, based on a crime fighting costumed superhero with the power to move at supersonic speed and a day job as CSI for Central City Police department.
In 2007, the ghost pepper (locally known as Bhut jolokia, Naga Jolokia, U-morok or Naga chilli) found in the Northeast Indian states was certified the world’s hottest chilli pepper by Guinness World Records.
