3rd Annual Anime Cosplay Con Mizoram 2014: Day One

Mizoram’s biggest pop culture festival is back again, much to the jumbo glee of Anime and Manga fandom pilgrimages in the state. The 3rd edition of the annual Anime Cosplay Con Mizoram with the theme “Fantasy Realm 2014” was flagged-off today at Millennium Centre Rooftop, Aizawl.

Unlike its previous conventions, this year the two day festival have big name guests such as Tomotaka Misawa (Japanese producer/actor) and NOB – C (Nobusi), a Japanese producer and illustrator on the bill.

Cosplay contest seemed to have a greater presence at this convention, a smattering of panels will select the winners for the categories; Emperor (Anime only), Empress (Anime only), Overall, Chibi, Best Performer, Best Roleplay, Master Craftsman and MAF Choice.

The Cosplay winners of Anime Cosplay Con Mizoram 2013 were invited to attend at India’s biggest Anime festival “Indian Comic Con 2014, New Delhi” in February. The team Mizoram won two prizes; Zothansanga (Loki) won the Comic Con India 2014 and a trip to attend New York Comic Con, while Bill (Uchiha Madara) was declared the winner of Cosplay Anime/Manga Categories.

The first ever local Manga “Our Fate” by Annette Khawlhring was released as festival’s periphery grab this morning and is available at the venue for Rs.150 a copy.
